Keep Thinking and Dreaming

Team Peter #1

Peter the Peteeatrick Panda™ is a creature created by Marc O'Brien.

Peter is not an ordinary type of being. Instead his extraordinary antics and humor will help you feel warm and cozy. Your Mom, Dad, and/or Nurse may enjoy the stories with you.

Peter the Panda came to a patch of green in a red desert years ago when he was given an opportunity that was like a dream come true. Or maybe it was a dream!!!!

One day while fooling around in the trees, Peter, a little, furry, black and white animal stuffed with love slipped on a branch and down he went to the ground. Crack... Crack went the branches then a loud thud!!!! Just as fast as he fell and landed on the patch of green a big thing drove up with flashing lights and two people called pandamedics whisked him away... The pandamedics were smiling and kind.......but Peter was scared!!! In this exciting pandatmosphere Peter discovered he took his first ride in a pandamobile that human people call an ambulance.

While the noisy pandamobile, with two big black lights in the front that looked like sunglasses, made it's way down the street the pandamedics talked to Peter about the accident he just had. "It's okay," they said, "Just tell the nurse the truth when we get to the hospital."

When Peter arrived at the hospital he had a pain in his paw. The nurse came to help him from the pandamobile with the sunglasses to a chair with big wheels like his pandacycle. The nurses called it a wheel chair. When he entered the emergency room the nurses looked at him quizzically. "What happened to your paw they asked?" "I was fooling around in the trees and slipped," Peter told the nurse with an honest smile, "and I fell all the way to the ground with a Thud."

Of course, the nurses had a lot to ask just like a mother and father about Peter fooling around but quickly changed to fixing his paw. A big machine like a camera took pictures of Peter's paw. The picture's were funny, black and white not like a panda camera... the nurses called them x-rays.

While Peter was waiting for the Doctor to come in and help him the unpredictable panda noticed chocolate that was on top of a cabinet filled with papers. Peter loves chocolate.... and within seconds, when the nurse turned her head, he quietly jumped up and started to climb the cabinet for the sweets using his good paw.

While hanging onto one of the handles with his healthy paw he felt the drawer start to open and all the information and candy started falling out. Pandemonium!!! He reached out and grabbed a paw full of candy, shoving it into his mouth. The nurse caught him and protected him from falling....His paws and face were covered with chocolate. Well, it must have been Peter's lucky day. He was in the arms of a sweet nurse and his belly was full of chocolate and he was told his paw was not broken.

At that moment all the nurses huddled together and came up with an idea. "you know if you stay in the patch of green you are going to get hurt again. Would you like to stay here on pediatrics and tell funny stories to the kids and help the nurses?"

One of the nurses laughed and said, " You can be our own Peteeatrick Panda™, a pandystriper that makes all the kids laugh. You can teach us all how to have fun and learn at the same time.

A magical experience was had by all!!!
